Avocados are commercially valuable and are cultivated in tropical and Mediterranean climate. They have a green skinned fleshy body that may be pear shaped, egg shaped or spherical. Commercially, they ripen after harvesting.
Although costly to produce, nutrient-rich avocado oil has diverse uses for salads or cooking and in cosmetics and soap products. Avocados can be propagated by seed, taking roughly four to six years to bear fruit.
